You’ve got to give it to Nike when it comes to retirement commercials.
Like Derek Jeter’s tip-of-the-cap ad from 2014, the sports apparel giant’s tribute to Kobe Bryant blends a classy send-off with lighthearted humor and plenty of cameos.
The commercial starts with Bryant nailing a buzzer-beating game winner over the Trail Blazers in Portland with fans angrily yelling at him. He cups his ear, soliciting a “Kobe sucks” chant.
The light go off, the crowd goes silent and he points to various people in attendance who sing of their hatred for him.
