Nuggets forward Vlatko Cancar has agreed to a three-year contract extension with a team option in the final year of his deal, a source confirmed to The Denver Post.
The deal could keep him in Denver through the 2024-25 season.
Cancar, a 6-foot-8 forward, had his season derailed last year after suffering a fractured right foot in January. Before the injury, Cancar was playing some of the best basketball of his NBA career.
He had surgery then returned for the regular-season finale in April.
Internally, the Nuggets believe he can be a productive player but just hasn’t had the opportunity, or luck, to put it all together so far.
