Vince Boryla always was a man of action when it came to basketball.
Fans of the Denver Nuggets learned that lesson shortly after Boryla became the team's president and general manager following the 1983-84 NBA season.Almost before he got to his office in McNichols Sports Arena, Boryla traded Kiki Vandeweghe to the Portland Trailblazers. The trade of the popular Vandeweghe not only sent shock waves through Denver, but the NBA as well. In return, Boryla brought in Wayne Cooper, Lafayette Lever, Calvin Natt and a couple of draft picks.
Boryla always will be remembered for that stunning first move as Nuggets' president, but there was much more to his basketball resume.
