Last season, no NBA head coaches were fired — something that hadn’t happened in a half century.
It took only three games this season for the Phoenix Suns to end that streak by firing Earl Watson. The Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks eventually following suit by parting ways with David Fizdale and Jason Kidd, respectively.
That won’t be the end of the firings, though. By the end of next week, there could be as many as 10 openings around the NBA — meaning a full third of the league could be searching for a new coach.
