The Denver Nuggets walloped the New Orleans Pelicans 146-114 Friday night in the highest scoring output in the NBA this season and Denver’s highest point total since 2008.
Here are eight takeaways from the contest:
1. Incidental contact. Even after putting up staggering offensive numbers, Nuggets coach Michael Malone acknowledged his team “caught a break” when Pelicans star Anthony Davis left the game for concussion protocol after knocking heads with Nikola Jokic early in the third quarter. Davis had scored 11 of his 17 points in the second quarter, when New Orleans trimmed a 27-point lead to single digits.
