The Denver Nuggets have waived Josh Childress, league sources told BSN Denver.
Childress, 34, signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Nuggets this summer and appeared in one preseason game where he went scoreless in four minutes of action against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 6-foot-8 swingman played for the Ball Hogs in Ice Cube’s BIG3 league this summer and was the first player from the BIG3 to sign an NBA contract after the league’s inaugural season.
Childress was drafted No. 6 overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 2004 out of Stanford, played four seasons for the franchise and emerged as one of the league’s most promising young players, averaging 13.
