HOUSTON – Between Houston’s losing streak and Denver’s battered roster, something had to give.
In desperate need of a win, the Rockets snapped their four-game losing streak by crushing the Nuggets, 121-105 on Wednesday night. Down five of their top seven rotation players, the Nuggets fell to 30-14 on the season.
They’ll try to bounce back Friday against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Nikola Jokic’s eighth triple-double of the season wasn’t enough to combat Houston’s double-barreled backcourt. Jokic finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while MVP candidate James Harden’s cat-and-mouse game netted him 27 points on 15 trips to the free-throw line.
