CHICAGO – Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly was on his way to Washington D.C. on Friday with plans to discuss the vacancy atop the Wizards’ front office, according to multiple media outlets.
Connelly spent Thursday afternoon scouting prospects at the NBA draft combine here, where he was accompanied by a large contingent of Nuggets front office members, including GM Arturas Karnisovas and assistant GM Calvin Booth.
Connelly, a Baltimore native, has long been linked to the Wizards job, which has been open since early April. He was scheduled to meet Friday with Washington owner Ted Leonsis and consultant Mike Forde on Friday, according to The Washington Post.
