NEW ORLEANS – It took Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. just three minutes before he made his first NBA basket.
That excitement and anticipation couldn’t mask the trove of mistakes that plagued the rest of the Nuggets on Thursday night.
The Nuggets fell 122-107 to the Pelicans, granting New Orleans its first win of the season. Denver dropped to 3-2 with another game on Saturday in Orlando.
The Pelicans put the game out of reach with a 20-4 run midway through the fourth quarter. That buoyed their scorching 3-point shooting, led by five 3-pointers from point guard Jrue Holiday.
