Tantalizing and polarizing, the Nuggets calculated Bol Bol was worth the risk.
Denver traded into the second round Thursday night to draft Bol from the University of Oregon, who despite his 7-foot-2 1/4 frame and obvious potential dropped all the way to the 44th pick.
“I’m sure it’s got a lot to do with the foot and again maybe the lack of strength right now, but I think there will be a lot of people regretting that he slipped as far as he did,” said Oregon assistant coach Tony Stubblefield, who recruited Bol out of high school.
