The Denver Nuggets waived journeyman Nick Young on Sunday, the team announced.
Young spent just three weeks with the Nuggets after the team signed him via injury hardship relief exception, which expired Saturday night. Young had a tough time cracking the rotation, and with Paul Millsap’s return on Saturday, coupled with the imminent returns of Gary Harris and Will Barton, Young was the odd-man out given that the Nuggets already had the maximum 15 contracts on their books.
Young, who appeared in four games averaging 9.3 minutes and 2.3 points, fit in seamlessly with the Nuggets’ easygoing locker room.
