Michael Malone spent part of his All-Star break on a pair of downhill skis, making turns at a Breckenridge resort, when the Nuggets coach took a moment for big-picture reflection.
With 27 regular-season games to go, Denver (38-17) holds the No. 2 slot in the Western Conference, and rarely with their original starting five together on the floor at once.
“To do it with all the injuries and guys being out,” Malone said, “has been remarkable.”
The Nuggets’ final push starts Friday at Oklahoma City, and finally, the team is beginning a return to full health.
