The Nuggets have found their new head coach, Mike Malone, according to an NBA source.
The former Sacramento Kings head coach replaces Brian Shaw, who was fired in March. Melvin Hunt served as the interim head coach to finish out the season and was also a candidate for the job.
Malone coached 106 games in just over one season as the head coach of the Kings, compiling a 39-67 record. He was fired 24 games into the 2014-15 season, his second, amid reports that his defense-first style clashed with what Kings executives wanted, which was a more offensive-minded system.
