The wind howled and whipped snow across the tarmac, whisking a wintery mix of cold and ice around the Nuggets as they landed at the airport in Denver in the early hours of Friday morning.
The blustery scene, captured by rookie forward Juancho Hernangomez in a social media post, was by no means a warm reception following a disheartening loss to the Sacramento Kings hours earlier. Yet, the miserable weather the team briefly endured at least reminded the Nuggets they had returned home to play basketball, and that has become more and more of a winning proposition of late.
