Two days after Will Barton buried two of the biggest shots of the Nuggets’ magical season Sunday afternoon, he was eager to talk Nikola Jokic.
After a rollercoaster first two rounds, which saw him benched but never sulk, Barton canned two 3-pointers in Game 4’s final minutes that helped the Nuggets steal momentum and send this second-round series back to Denver tied 2-2.
Though Barton has a propensity to operate in isolation, both of those baskets came as a result of attention Portland paid to Denver’s rising superstar. In fact, it was Barton’s 3-pointer with 1:43 left that ensured Jokic’s NBA-leading fourth triple-double of the postseason.
