The Nuggets have signed journeyman forward Josh Childress to a non-guaranteed training camp deal, according to a report by Basketball Insiders.
Childress, 34, most recently played this summer in the Big 3, a three-on-three basketball league founded by rapper Ice Cube. The 6-foot-8 former first-round pick out of Stanford last played in the NBA during the 2013-14 season.
Childress, who has averaged 9.1 points in 391 career games, would seem unlikely to be a candidate for the Nuggets 15-man roster to start the regular season. Denver has 14 players under contract. And big man Mason Plumlee would become the 15th player if he signs the one-year qualifying offer of $4.
