PORTLAND, Ore. – The Nuggets brought the hammer with them to Portland.
The tough-as-nails Nuggets stormed back from a 14-point second-half deficit Thursday night and ripped Rip City’s heart out. The Nuggets’ riveting 126-115 Game 6 win ended the Blazers’ season and sent Denver to the second round of the NBA playoffs for the third consecutive season. The winner of Lakers-Suns awaits.
The game was tied at 108 with 6:12 left. From there, the Nuggets took over. Austin Rivers converted a layup, then Monte Morris followed suit. Rivers drained a 3-pointer, which whipped Denver’s bench into an elated frenzy.
