Despite his team’s second-round ouster in the NBA Playoffs, Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly was encouraged by the gains his team made this season.
In an unprecedented year due to COVID-19, the Nuggets were poised for a long postseason run before Jamal Murray sustained a devastating injury in late April. Before Murray tore his ACL, Connelly felt the Nuggets could win a championship.
Now, Connelly heads into the offseason with the core of a championship foundation intact, yet a roster in need of upgrades.
Making those decisions even harder is not knowing when Murray might be able to return next season.
