The Denver Nuggets hope their switch has already been flipped.
Coach Mike Malone said his team treated the preseason like the regular season in an effort to prepare for Wednesday’s season opener at the Los Angeles Clippers.
“Our whole thing with preseason and our five games has been, we’re not good enough to flip a switch,” Malone said.
The Nuggets went 4-1, picked up where they left off on offense last season, established rotations and, perhaps most importantly, yielded the sixth-fewest points allowed of any team this preseason at 101.6 per game. Malone was pleased with the team’s buy-in, especially on the defensive end, but he underscored it was only preseason.
