CHARLOTTE – In the quiet moments before the Nuggets take the court, it’s usually one of the team’s elder statesmen who deliver a message.
The messenger, according to Monte Morris, changes, but there’s always a reminder of the significance of the next 48 minutes.
“I just like when people speak up and let us know what’s at stake,” said Morris, after the Nuggets survived a fourth-quarter charge from the Hornets on Monday night to improve to 45-31 on the season and create a two-game buffer ahead of No. 7 Minnesota.
After Monday’s win, Denver’s got just six more games of those reminders.
