NEW ORLEANS – Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. said he didn’t think he was going to play Friday night against the Pelicans before going out and dropping a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double in the 113-106 gutsy win over the Pelicans.
He said he tweaked his back lifting Wednesday in Houston, which is why he missed the loss to the Rockets.
“It didn’t feel right,” Porter said Friday night, his first time speaking with the media since missing the game. “I felt a little limited, so I just wanted to give it a couple days’ rest, but it’s fine.
