In retrospect, perhaps the Nuggets would like a do-over with Torrey Craig.
The rugged 30-year-old Suns forward, now up 2-0 in the NBA Finals, is where the Nuggets wish they were. A mid-season trade (ironically, from Milwaukee) sent Craig careening to the Arizona desert where he’s found a home.
In 32 games with the Suns, he averaged a career-high 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds. His 37% 3-point shooting percentage was also a career-high and likely a testament to the snug role he’s found in Phoenix. Playing alongside future Hall of Famer Chris Paul, rising superstar Devin Booker and emerging big man Deandre Ayton, Craig has benefitted from all of the attention reserved for his more popular teammates.
