Veteran Nuggets guard Jameer Nelson gives a straightforward answer when asked about his job description. He doesn’t need to spend a lot of time describing it.
“Whatever the team needs,” Nelson said. “It is what it is. If the coach needs me to do certain things, I try to do them to the best of my ability.”
And everything he’s been asked to do — and delivered — has been critical to the Nuggets early this season.
It starts with scoring but stretches into running the team, taking some pressure off of starting point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, facilitating, and helping mentor the young guards on the roster.
