All-Star weekend is over, and the NBA’s regular-season stretch run is here.
And if the Nuggets are to maintain their No. 2 spot in the Western Conference, they’re going to have to earn it.

It’s not so much that Denver hobbled into the all-star break with numerous injuries. Or that the franchise declined to add another big piece at the trade deadline (unless you count Keita Bates-Diop, Jordan McRae or Noah Vonleh).
It’s that both of those things happened, and they’re facing the most difficult remaining schedule of the top five teams in the conference.
