The doors to the Nuggets’ auxiliary gym at the Pepsi Center stayed locked Saturday afternoon, and instead of allowing reporters to view the final minutes of practice, the team required extended secrecy to run set plays until the final whistle.
That was extra preparation time made necessary by an unfortunate Nuggets injury bug as they’ve reached the midway point of the season at 29-12 with three starters hurt on the bench.
Point guard Jamal Murray (ankle), power forward Paul Millsap (knee) and shooting guard Gary Harris (adductor strain) were all absent from Friday night’s overtime victory at Golden State.
