Paul Millsap looked like he’d seen a ghost.
It was only moments earlier that reports spread around the Nuggets locker room that NBA legend Kobe Bryant died Sunday in a helicopter crash. The Associated Press reported just before Sunday’s 1:30 p.m. tip that Bryant and four others died in the wreck.
“Are you (expletive) me?” Millsap said. He could’ve been speaking for any of the handful of players in the Nuggets’ locker room.
Rookie Michael Porter Jr. was in shock. Veteran Will Barton hopped on his phone to call an associate to find out if it was true.
