Before Sunday night, Nuggets shooting guard Malik Beasley had been a casualty of the deepest team in the NBA.
Between Nov. 10 and Sunday’s game against Phoenix, a span of five contests that saw the Nuggets go 4-1, Beasley played a total of seven minutes that came in mop-up duty against Memphis.
Over those two weeks he fidgeted while on the bench, stood when the rest of his teammates sat, and anxiously employed resistance bands in the event Nuggets coach Michael Malone called his name.
To his credit, last year’s spark plug managed to find a bit of levity to the situation even as he was struggling to wrap his head around the circumstance.
