Nuggets guard Jamal Murray named to NBA all-rookie second team

Nuggets’ Jamal Murray was named to the NBA all-rookie second team on Monday, the league announced.

The 6-4, 207-pound guard from Kitchener, Canada, played in all 82 games, averaging 9.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.5 minutes.

The No. 7 overall pick out of Kentucky was also named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge during the NBA All-Star Weekend, after he scored 36 points and added 11 assists, leading Team World to a win. He went 9-of-14 from 3-point land in the win.

Murray, 20, ranked sixth among all rookies in scoring, ninth in assists, 10th in minutes and 11th in 3-point shooting percentage.
