All night long, the toughest opponents the Nuggets fought were themselves.
It was a losing battle.
They were too tough for themselves.
The Nuggets dropped a 103-96 decision to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night at the Pepsi Center. The reasons were simple: turnovers and free throws.
First, the turnovers. The Nuggets committed 19 of them. Memphis took those and gladly cashed them in for 30 points.
Second, free throws. Memphis marched to the charity stripe continuously, making 28-of-36 from the line.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets took just 8-of-10.
