Despite entering Tuesday night as one of just four undefeated teams left in the NBA, the Denver Nuggets have had one glaring flaw in all three of their games thus far: first quarters.
The Nuggets (3-0) have trailed after one in every game this season, with their offense looking stagnant and uncharacteristically out of sync. Among all 30 teams, the Nuggets have the second-worst offensive rating (83.3 points per 100 possessions) in the league over first quarters, ahead of just the New York Knicks.
Yet they’re still undefeated.
It’s way too small a sample size to raise any significant red flags, but the starting unit as a whole – Nikola Jokic, Gary Harris, Will Barton, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic – has scuffled.
