Late Tuesday night, after the Nuggets’ rousing win over the Trail Blazers, Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez walked back into the home locker room to say their goodbyes.
Beasley held a long embrace with Nuggets veteran Will Barton. He and Hernangomez had been informed that they were on the move.
According to a league source, both fourth-year players were close to being dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night, along with forward Jarred Vanderbilt, as part of a four-team trade also involving Atlanta and Houston. In return, the Nuggets would receive a first-round pick from Houston, along with Minnesota’s Keita Bates-Diop, Noah Vonleh and Shabazz Napier.
