Nikola Jokic poured in 25 points in Serbia’s narrow 94-91 defeat to Team USA in group play, but by the time he made his first field goal in the second quarter of Sunday’s Gold medal game, the Serbs were already down 20. Jokic would end up with just six points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in Team USA’s 96-66 victory.
By halftime, it was Serbia 29, Kevin Durant 24. Durant reminded everyone that he is the best player in Rio, and it’s not particularly close. He’s had some other big games in the tournament, but he saved his best for last, finishing with 30 points on 11-20 shooting.
