As part of the NBA FIT Program Program, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and head strength and conditioning coach, Steve Hess, spent the afternoon with students from the surrounding Denver Metro educating them on the importance of living a healthy and nutritious lifestyle.
“You only have one body for a lifetime, treat it well,” said Hess.
The students were able to ask nutrition-related questions to Hess, while Jokic signed autographs and demonstrated how to properly stretch before a game. Each child received Fit Team posters and t-shirts at the end of the session.
The NBA FIT program was designed to encourage middle-school children to take initiative and use fitness as a leadership tool by developing skills such as commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.
