As part of the NBA FIT Program Program, Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari and head strength and conditioning coach, Steve Hess, spent the afternoon with fifty 4th-8th grade Excel Academy students educating them on the importance of living a healthy and nutritious lifestyle.
“You only have one body for a lifetime, treat it well,” said Hess.
The students were able to ask nutrition-related questions to Hess, while Gallinari signed autographs and stressed the importance of a balanced diet. Each child received Fit Team posters and t-shirts at the end of the session.
The NBA FIT Program program was designed to encourage middle-school children to take initiative and use fitness as a leadership tool by developing skills such as commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.
