Prized free agent LaMarcus Aldridge says he has chosen to join the San Antonio Spurs.
Aldridge tweeted the news on Saturday after spending a week meeting with teams as the most coveted player on the market. Aldridge spent his previous nine seasons in Portland, but is leaving for a four-year maximum contract with the Spurs.
He averaged a career-high 23.8 points per game for the Trail Blazers last season.
The Dallas native says on Twitter, "I'm happy to say I'm going home to Texas and will be a Spur!! I'm excited to join the team and be close to my family and friends.
