Joey Dorsey, Denver Nuggets reach buyout agreement

The Nuggets have reached an agreement with Joey Dorsey on a buyout, freeing the forward to sign with another team as a free agent.

Dorsey was acquired by the Nuggets as part of the trade that sent former starting point guard Ty Lawson to the Rockets in July. With Dorsey not on the roster, the Nuggets are down to 14 players with guaranteed contracts at this point. Guard Erick Green had a partial guarantee of $100,000, which he collected on Aug. 1. Meanwhile, forward Kostas Papanikolaou's 2015-16 salary of approximately $4.7 million becomes guaranteed on Oct. 4.

Dorsey, a 6-foot-8, 268-pound forward, has spent four seasons in the NBA and has averaged 2.
