DALLAS – Late Friday night, as the Mavericks were salting away a humbling 28-point pounding of the Nuggets, Bones Hyland found himself in the corner with the ball, staring down Dallas center JaVale McGee.
As Christian Wood, another Dallas big man, rotated over toward Hyland, the logical basketball play was to kick to Vlatko Cancar, one of Sunday’s many heroes, who was wide open on the wing.
