When the Denver Nuggets decided to tab Erick Green ahead of Nick Johnson for their last roster spot a week ago, many people were surprised. Johnson is much more athletic, has a much greater chance at becoming an above-average NBA player than Green and had more guaranteed money on his contract.
In the Nuggets’ first two games, Green has played only three minutes, putting up zero shot attempts, zero points and one assist.
And yet, Green was the right decision for Denver. Why? Let’s look at three reasons.
