It made sense that Will Barton slipped on a pair of aviator sunglasses inside the Nuggets’ locker room. The finishing touch of his latest head-turning outfit was a pair of rhinestoned sneakers, with a sparkle that could blind the unprotected eye.
“Sometimes, I just like to stand out,” Barton said with a smile.
Barton’s fashion choices are like his game — full of flash and bravado. Perhaps that’s why he could so confidently bounce back from early-week failures with one of his best performances of the season against the best basketball team in the world. After missing potential game-winning 3-pointers against Boston and San Antonio, Barton scored 10 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter of Denver’s 115-108 comeback win against defending champion Golden State on Saturday.
