Jamal Murray was drafted #7 overall in the 2016 draft by the Denver Nuggets. They drafted him as a shooting guard, and that’s primarily the position that he played during his first season, coming off of the bench behind Gary Harris. He also got some run at point guard behind Jameer Nelson and Emmanuel Mudiay.
In his second season, the Nuggets moved Murray to full time point guard, handing him the starting job. It was a big adjustment for Murray, who was widely considered a scoring guard coming out of college. He had to learn how to distribute the ball and run an offense.
