Three-point shooting can be one of the great deciding factors in a basketball game. On Wednesday, it was the Nuggets’ hot shooting from beyond the arc that propelled them to a 108-100 win against the Portland Trail Blazers, despite the fact Denver had 19 turnovers and shot just 34.7 percent on two-pointers.
On Media Day, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone emphasized his desire to see the offense take and knock down more triples in the 2019-20 season.
“We want to generate more quality looks from the 3-point line,” Malone said on Media Day. “We took around 32 threes a game last year and I’d like to take that up to 36, 37 attempts per game while making sure they are still quality threes.
