Monday’s 4 p.m. deadline for rookie scale extensions came and went, and neither fourth-year Nuggets Malik Beasley or Juancho Hernangomez had a new deal.
That means both will enter next summer as restricted free agents, where the Nuggets still have the chance to match any offer sheets that either player receives from an opposing team.
The Nuggets were very aggressive in their offers, according to league sources, and both sides were talking up until Monday’s deadline.
In general, the Nuggets prefer reaching early deals with their players and benefiting from the goodwill those contracts engender.
