San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White has been named to USA Basketball’s World Cup qualifying team.
White, 24, starred at Legend High School before playing collegiately with Colorado-Colorado Springs and then the Colorado Buffaloes. He was selected with the 29th pick in the first round of the 2017 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs.
He appeared in 17 games for the Spurs last year, averaging 3.2 points and 1.5 rebounds.
Team USA will play its second-round qualifying games against Uruguay on Sept. 14 at UNLV’s Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, and Panama on Sept.
