CHICAGO — Following his breakout performance last week against the Los Angeles Lakers, Nuggets guard Monte Morris explained his success was a product of close working relationships with all of his head coaches.
Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg, who coached Morris for two seasons at Iowa State, raved about his former star here Wednesday prior to his team meeting the Nuggets.
“One of the most solid guys I’ve ever been around,” Hoiberg said. “As a freshman, he came into a very tough league in the Big 12, had a 6:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, crushed the all-time record in that category.
