PHOENIX – As Kevin Durant’s pick-and-roll partner for two years in Brooklyn, Bruce Brown learned many of the preferences, intricacies and minutiae that, combined with Durant’s all-world talent, make him a lethal offensive threat.
These days, Brown is doing his best to turn all of that institutional knowledge into defensive stops rather than easy buckets.
“I’ve played a lot of minutes with him, a lot of meaningful minutes with him,” Brown said of working with Durant. “Just having conversations on the court with him about where he wants to be, what he wants to get to. I was playing that big-man role, so a lot of pick-and-rolls with him.
