Denver assistant coach Micah Nori is leaving the Nuggets to join the Detroit Pistons’ staff, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Nori has been a longtime assistant of Nuggets coach Michael Malone, both in Denver and in Sacramento. Nori also spent 15 seasons with Toronto, including four as an assistant coach.
Nori joins a Pistons staff now helmed by Dwane Casey, the NBA Coach of the Year who was fired by Toronto after leading the Raptors to 59 regular-season wins and the No. 1 seed in the East before losing to Cleveland in the conference semifinals.
The Nuggets’ remaining assistant coaches are Wes Unseld Jr.
