As Denver Nuggets return from 0-2 road trip, ugly loss in Sacramento still lingers

A typically blunt Michael Malone had a surprisingly upbeat demeanor Monday night after the Nuggets’ loss at Golden State.

The Nuggets’ coach was thrilled Nikola Jokic again looked like Nikola Jokic, recording his first triple-double of the season after a mini-slump. Malone was pleased the Nuggets slashed their turnover total, committing 11 that led to 11 points after surrendering an “awful” 26 turnovers for 40 points in a stunning loss at Sacramento two nights prior. Malone even thought his team’s defense was solid against a Warriors squad that kept sinking tough shots as Stephen Curry continued his offensive tear in his return from injury.
