Anthony Edwards fined $50K for “recklessly swinging a chair” following Timberwolves’ playoffs loss to Nuggets

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards on Wednesday was fined $50,000 for his actions following Minnesota’s first-round playoff series loss to the Nuggets in April.

The fine stems from an incident on April 25 when Edwards “recklessly (swung) a chair in frustration that struck two bystanders as he exited the court” after the Timberwolves’ 112-109 loss at Ball Arena, according to an NBA news release. The Nuggets went on to win their first NBA championship in franchise history.

According to the league, the announcement comes after the criminal investigation into the matter was dismissed in July, per collective bargaining agreement rules.
