Jamal Murray turned out to be a great draft pick for Denver last summer. After starting out extremely cold in the regular season, he turned things around and quickly made it clear that he was worth the seventh overall pick.
What statistic that really goes overlooked from his impressive rookie season is his assist percentage. Assist percentage is an estimate of the percentage of teammate field goals a player assisted on while he was on the floor.
For his rookie year, Murray possessed an assist percentage of 14%. Normally, this would not be an exactly stellar percentage for a point guard.
