Altitude Sports dropped from DISH Network lineup as 15-year partnership expires

The first domino in the ongoing Altitude TV dispute fell late Wednesday night when the regional sports network was removed from the DISH Network, the satellite carrier announced in a release.

The partnership, which began in 2004 and was extended again in 2014, expired as “DISH fights back against the broken regional sports business model.”

The same could happen to Altitude’s two other major distributors – Comcast and DIRECTV — both of whose deals expire on Saturday.

“This comes down to Altitude demanding payment on a guaranteed minimum number of customers,” said Andy LeCuyer, DISH senior vice president of Programming in the release.
